Before SeasonHop was a platform, it was three of us in a shared staff room — first in Lech, then St. Anton, then Obergurgl — doing exactly what tens of thousands of seasonal workers do every winter: showing up in a resort we'd never seen, for a hotel that knew us only as a CV, hoping "accommodation provided" meant a real room and not a mattress next to the ski storage.
We got lucky most seasons. Plenty of people we worked alongside didn't. Every early exit costs a hotel more than it costs the worker — mid-season, during the exact weeks a front desk or kitchen can least afford a gap. That's the problem SeasonHop exists to fix, and we built it from the side of the table most platforms never sit at.
1. We're Not an Agency
Recruitment agencies take 10–20% of an annual salary, hand a hotel a shortlist it didn't build a relationship with, and disappear once the contract is signed. We'd been on the other side of that transaction. We knew the fee wasn't buying anyone honesty.
SeasonHop is a platform, not a middleman:
- Workers build a real profile — experience, languages, availability, who they want to work with — and apply directly
- Hotels see and message the actual person, not a filtered shortlist
- Verified Room Photos replace "accommodation provided"
- Squad applications let groups who already work well together apply as one unit
2. Workers From 90+ Countries, Not Just the DACH Region
We expected SeasonHop to stay a DACH-and-Balkans story. It didn't. It's now used by seasonal workers registering from more than 90 countries — people building a seasonal hospitality career the same deliberate way someone else builds a corporate one, just across resorts instead of one company.
That reach wasn't something we designed for on day one. It's what happened once workers had a place to be visible on their own terms.
3. Currently a Free Pilot — On Purpose
We're not charging hotels for placements right now. Not as an introductory offer with fine print: SeasonHop is currently a free pilot, because we're still building this with the hotels and workers actually using it, and the fastest way to get the product right is to not put a price between us and honest feedback. Founding hotels shape what this becomes before it's finished.
4. Where This Is Going: The LinkedIn for Seasonal Work
A ski season ends in April. A seasonal hospitality career doesn't — it's six winters, six resorts, a reputation that should travel between them but currently doesn't survive a single season change. That's the gap we're closing: not another one-off hiring tool, but a standing professional identity for seasonal workers — verified history, references, squad relationships — that follows them from Lech to wherever they work next.
Hire From the Platform Built By People Who've Done the Job
We're not scaling a marketplace for its own sake. We're building the tool we wished existed when we were the ones packing a bag for a resort we'd never seen.
